Sallie McCown

Owner/Director

Sallie McCown began her dance training at the age of 5 at Elizabeth King's Dance Studio in Fort Worth and continued her training with Ed Holoman and Larry Howard through high school and college. She began her teaching career for the Fort Worth Parks and Recreation Dept. in 1975, teaching dance classes at R.D. Evans, Southwest, and Northside Recreation Centers. Sallie opened Sallie's School of Dance in 1978. Over the past 37 years, students from Sallie's School of Dance have received college scholarships for dance excellence, numerous competitions (regional and national), performed on cruise ships and Disneyworld, and many have become dance instructors/professional performers. Sallie currently has former students teaching and performing throughout the U.S. and as far away as London, England. Of the thousands of students who have trained with Miss Sallie, all have achieved poise, grace, self-confidence, and the discipline to achieve their dreams.

Ashley Chiles

Choreographer/Instructor

Ashley grew up dancing at Sallie's School of Dance and won many National Titles. She then went on to cheering competitively, earning a scholarship to Navarro College in Corsicana, TX. Ashley considers Sallie's to be a forever home and is excited to be back!

Sarah Kennerly

Choreographer/Instructor

Sarah's love of dance was sparked at 6 years old while attending the Houston Ballet's Nutcracker. She continued her dance training in ballet, contemporary, modern, lyrical and jazz performing Into the Light Ballet in Times Square, Project Dance in New York and Atlanta. Sarah is a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where she was a member/lieutenant of the Patriettes Dance Team and performed in London and at many National competitions. We are so happy to welcome Sarah to our dance family.

Chelsea Mitchell

Choreographer/Instructor

Chelsea Mitchell began dancing at Sallie's School of Dance at 3 years of age and continued her dance training with Sallie and the AHHS dance program. When she moved to begin college, Chelsea continued training and performing and returned in the summer to teach at Sallie's Summer Dance Program. Chelsea graduated from Tarleton State University in 2015 and has joined the staff at Sallie's as an instructor/choreographer teaching jazz and lyrical for the Junior Varsity Dance Team. Chelsea Humphreys is an outstanding addition to Sallie's School of Dance. She is very excited to be back at her home dance school to teach and inspire young dancers as she was inspired years ago.
